This was only an error in very old Perl versions (older than 5.14). I
have now added the fix to our v3 branch, and it will be in Freeside 3.8.

FYI, although we don't actively remove support for old Perl versions, at
this time, we are not doing any testing with Perl versions older than
5.14. Specifically, we test with 5.14, 5.20 and (soon) 5.22.

If you're running Freeside with an old Perl version such as 5.8, 5.10 or
5.12, I would encourage you to get involved with development and test
the v3 (and v4) git branch(es) in your environment.
