[freeside] Error: Illegal or empty (text)

This is diane again. I just joined the mailing-list a few days ago (so
I'm not asking this question again. And if I find the solution, I'll
also post it out to let others know). I posted the problem last week
and Jeremy was just trying to help me. Here's what happened:

I got "Error: Illegal or empty (text)" message when I tried to add new
customers, new agent types, new agents, etc. I believe the input
strings were valid and non-empty. But the error still showed up
sometimes (not every time). Jeremy replied me that he got the same
error before and he thought it was caused by some versions of CGI.pm.

Here's what I have (I'm using apache::asp):
OpenBSD 3.3
Perl 5.6.1
Apache::ASP 2.51
CGI.pm 2.8.1
Freeside 1.4.1
Mod_perl 1.29
Apache 1.3.29

Any help will be highly appreciated!

What specific version of CGI.pm >3? What OS (and version), Perl
version, mod_perl verison and version of Apache::ASP or HTML::Mason?

What did you do, specifically, that indicated the problem was with a
CGI.pm method?  Which CGI.pm method?

I am using CGI.pm 3.01 (bunded with perl 5.8.3) with no problems, so it
appears that the problem is with a _specific_ verison of CGI.pm under
_specific_ circumstances, not just CGI.pm higher than 3 in all
circumstances.

You reported this problem before, but didn't respond when asked for
additional information. Please respond when asked for additional
information, otherwise, don't bother posting to the list.
