References, please...

I am currently looking into building a robust billing and ordering system
for a local ISP specializing in broadband services. So far it seems that
Freeside has a lot to offer in that regard, and I am excited about the fact
that it is open-source.

However, I would like to hear from others about their experiences, what they
think about it, how easy it is to install and configure, whether it lends
itself well to extending functionality, and if it is a truly scalable
product, e.g. what is the maximum subscriber size limit.
