For a backup environment, I'd recommend duplicating the production
environment as closely as possible rather than installing current
versions of everything.

For a new install, I suggest testing a current DBD::Pg snapshot from
gborg.postgresql.org CVS and reporing if the problem has been fixed in
1.32. If so, I'll update the dependancies.
