Format of configuration files

Hey, I'm trying to set up the freeside billing system and I'm at the
point to set up the confiruation files that go in the
/usr/local/etc/freeside/conf.XXXXX/ directory and for a lot of the files
I don't know what format to put them in, for example:
 
*	apachemachine - A machine with the apacheroot directory and user
home directories. The existance of this file enables setup of virtual
host directories, and, in conjunction with the `home' configuration
file, symlinks into user home directories. 
What format do I put the information in that file? I just put "server1"
if the apache server is server1.firstfaze.com? I mean how does it know
WHERE the files are, etc.
 
I've figured out how to do all the set up steps except for this one. I'm
having just a little trouble!
