maximum password length

Hello all,
I am setting up freeside at an existing ISP and noted that there appears
to be a maximum password length of 8 characters. Some of our existing 
customers have passwords exceeding this. I didn't see any configuration 
option for this. How do I adjust freeside to play nice with larger
passwords?
