Using an external RT, current CVS requires RT 3.4.x.

If you were inclined, you could patch FS::TicketSystem::RT_External to 
automatically determine the RT verison (or just use a config option) and 
adjust its queries accordingly.  Personally, I only use the internal RT 
integration.  :)
