1. download the gd source rpm from rpmfind.net
2. edit the gd.spec file so that the 'Release' matches your
dependencies (1_6.rh.7.3.at)
3. rebuild the rpm and install (you may have to resolve a few
dependencies in order to build it)
if you need specific help with building the rpm let me know.
alternatively, you can use the 2.0.15-1 and force it to install
from looking at the atrpms.net site, their stable releases are simply
rebuilt redhat packages anyway, so forcing the install should not do any
harm. dependent packages will still find what they're looking for 99%
of the time and won't complain.

thanks Nate.
I have tried to install these gd-2 rpms.
The dependency just grows & grows.
apt-get
up2date --whatprovides xxxx .... can't sort it out
apt-cache search xxxxxx ....... can't sort it out
yum provides xxxxxxx ........ can't sort it out
My only conclusion is...............
gd-2.0.15-1.i386.rpm
must be different to
gd-2.0.15-1_6.rh7.3.at.i386.rpm
Any ideas
thanks
Roger
