Are you using InnoDB as well as BDB?

we have mysql running...

we downloaded the binary rpms for the mysql components and the mysql-max 
daemon...

the mysql-max daemon is compiled with BDB support and the default table 
type is BDB as well...

alternatively you could try compiling mysql with the BDB patch
