Oh, I see what you're thinking now.

I didn't mean just include the tarballs, but include the tarballs
along with an installation script which automatically took care of the
compiling and installing for them as well.

However, you're right about the version up-to-date problem with the
modules.  Not sure how to deal with that.  On the other hand, wouldn't
it be a problem if we just always gave the user the latest module
version?  What if the module author introduced something that broke
Freeside?  It hasn't happened so far, but you never know...
