I have updated the RPM build files for the FREESIDE_1_7_BRANCH in CVS
and committed them. I have only done cursory testing on the resulting
RPMs, and that only for the backend, and only on Fedora Core 6. The
self-service RPM is still bleeding edge. I have not done any work on a
RT RPM yet. I reformatted the HTML instructions and put them in the
wiki. I'll try to find time to go back and edit them later. (Building
a repository is more work than the instructions say; I had to patch Ovid
twice.)

The dependency lists in the RPMs do not include all the Perl modules
used in the exports, etc., so don't be surprised if you get the
occasional missing Perl module error.

I believe we're at a stage where we could release 1.7.3 if nothing else
is holding up the release. If the RPM files change later so you can
build better RPMs for 1.7.3, that's fine.

You cannot do an "rpmbuild -ta <tarball>" as the rt.spec file is still
in the tarball, and the freeside.spec file has an %%include directive in it.

We should hammer out a procedure for updating the .spec file for new
releases. The easy part is changing Version tag and setting the Release
tag back to 1. The hard part is making sure it builds a working set of
RPMs.
